ONLINE SLIDERS

A lot of people have wondered what sliders are used for online games in the MyPLAYER modes on 2K and the developers have never shared a real answer to this question, they usually just give a canned response along the lines of "we use a custom set of sliders most similar to X difficulty" but this could mean all sorts of things given they don't tell us what the difference is between these custom sliders and the difficulty they're supposedly most similar to.

Using Cheat Engine, software that enables you to scan the memory of games/applications on PC, I believe I have uncovered what the exact sliders used for Park and Jordan Rec Center games are.

PARK

In this video, I show the process of using the program to uncover the park sliders but I'll go through the sliders below as well so you don't have to watch the video (although I would appreciate it if you do).

Offense

On offense, the sliders are all set to 50. This is identical to All-Star difficulty.

Defense

On defense, all the sliders except Jump Shot Defense Strength (release) are set to 50 while Jump Shot Defense Strength (release) is increased to 70. Again this is pretty much All-Star difficulty just with Jump Shot Defense Strength (release) boosted. I believe this is what they tweaked with the recent shot contest buff.

Fouls

The foul sliders are where the real change is. All foul frequencies (except Over the Back calls, which are set to 30) are set at 40. So the foul sliders are essentially the same as Pro difficulty with Over the Back foul frequency tuned down.

JORDAN REC CENTER

In this video, I show the process of using the program to uncover the rec sliders but I'll go through the sliders below as well so you don't have to watch the video (although I would appreciate it if you do).

Offense

Just like Park, the offense sliders on Rec are all set to 50. This is again identical to All-Star difficulty.

Defense

Again, just like Park, all the defense sliders except Jump Shot Defense Strength (release) are set to 50 while Jump Shot Defense Strength (release) is increased to 70. Again this is pretty much All-Star difficulty just with Jump Shot Defense Strength (release) boosted. This lends further credence to the idea that this is what they tweaked with the recent shot contest buff.

Fouls

The foul sliders are where Rec and Park differ. All foul frequencies are set to 50. I mistakenly said in the above video that this was identical to All-Star, it is instead All-Star with Blocking, Reaching and Shooting foul frequency turned down by 10 (these three are all 60 on All-Star).
